RESEARCH ON THE MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE OF CONSTRAINED DENTED PIPELINE UNDER TEMPERATURE LOAD
In order to investigate the body damage and potential safety hazards caused by dent defects on oil and gas pipelines,ABAQUS software is adopted to establish the finite element model for constrained dented pipeline under temperature load. The nonlinear constitutive model of steel material is accurately simulated by the combination of Ramberg-Osgood model and the two-stage stress-strain constitutive equation that is more suitable for practice. The influences of the dent depth, the pipeline internal pressure, and the temperature on the stress and strain of con-strained dented pipeline under operating internal pressure are investigated. It is found that the most significant influ-ence on the stress and strain of constrained dented pipeline is the dent depth, followed by the pipeline internal pres-sure,and finally the temperature load, providing the reference for the design of this kind of steel pipeline.
