STUDY ON SEISMIC BEHAVIOR OF BRICK MASONRY STRENGTHENED WITH CEMENT MORTAR
At present, most of the houses in rural areas are masonry structure houses, most are self-built houses, lacking of formal design and construction, whose safety and seismic performance is generally poor. Taking a self-built two-story brick masonry building in Guiji town of Huainan as the case, this paper analyzes the seismic per-formance of the building by PKPM according to relevant codes and on-site test data. Taking the thickness of cement mortar surface layer, the strength grade of original masonry mortar, the reinforcement of single and double layers, and the thickness of original wall as the changing factors, the influence of cement mortar reinforcement on the seis-mic performance of brick masonry is analyzed through the enhancement coefficient, it is found that the strength coef-ficient has an inverse relationship with the strength grade of the masonry mortar and a direct relationship with the thickness of the mortar surface. The study may provide theoretical experience for the related masonry structure rein-forcement and guide the subsequent reinforcement treatment.
