ANALYSIS OF UNIAXIAL CREEP CHARACTERISTICS OF ASPHALT MIXES
Uniaxial creep tests are conducted on five asphalt mixes at two temperatures to analyze the uniaxial creep properties of asphalt mixes and to study their deformation resistance. The results show that the uniaxial creep proper-ties of asphalt mixes are affected by asphalt mix type and temperatures. Asphalt mixes with different aggregate grada-tions, and similar aggregate gradations but different asphalt binders have different uniaxial creep properties, i.e., re-sistance to permanent deformation. The instantaneous elastic modulus, viscosity resistance, and anti-viscoelastic de-formation modulus of an asphalt mix decreases significantly with increasing temperature, and its resistance to perma-nent deformation capacity decreases.
