OPTIMAL ARRANGEMENT OF VISCOELASTIC DAMPER IN EXISTING BUILDINGS
This paper studies the optimal layout method of viscoelastic dampers in seismic strengthening of existing structures. A numerical model of a nine-story reinforced concrete frame office building is established by SAP2000 to analyze the elastic-plastic time history of the construction. The effectiveness of different viscoelastic damper lay-out schemes on the interlayer displacement angle, interlayer shear force, and vertex displacement of existing struc-tures are analyzed. The results show that the viscoelastic damper well controls the seismic response of the structure. Comparing with the uniform layout method of viscoelastic dampers, the weight coefficient method has better optimiza-tion effect on structural reinforcement. The research provides an arrangement method for viscoelastic dampers in seismic reinforcement of existing structures.
