STUDY ON MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE OF K-SHAPE BUCKLING RESTRAINED STEEL PLATE SHEAR WALL WITH THREE-SIDE CONNECTION
In order to prevent the early failure at the corners near the free side of three-side connected buckling re-strained steel plate shear wall (TBRW),a novel K-shape buckling restrained steel plate shear wall with three-side connection (TBRW-K) is proposed in this paper. The yield capacity,initial stiffness,load-displacement curve,plas-tic strain distribution,and yielding region distribution are obtained according to the mechanical performance analy-sis of TBRW and TBRW-K by using ABAQUS finite element software. The analysis results show that the yield ca-pacity,initial stiffness,and load-displacement curve of TBRW-K are almost the same to that of TBRW,but the TBRW-K has better ductility and energy dissipation capacity than that of TBRW. Finally,simple theoretical calcula-tion formulas with high precision are presented for the engineering design of TBRW-K.
