THE INFLUENCE OF GROOVE CONSTRUCTION ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE STRUCTURE-SAND INTERFACE
The surface groove size of structures directly affects the performance of interface shear strength, which is of great significance. This article employs an improved shear device to study the macroscopic shear performance be-tween steel plates with different surface groove shapes and fine sand. The results show that the relationship curve be-tween the interface shear stress and shear displacement can be divided into linear growth stage, nonlinear growth stage, and stable stage. The peak shear stress at the interface is directly proportional to the groove width, and the re-lationship with the groove depth is not obvious. The relative ratio of groove size to sand particle size affects the devel-opment of interface shear stress. The interface friction angles under different groove widths and depths are concen-trated in the range of 25°~28°and 26°~27°,respectively.The interface shear strength is highest at a groove depth of 2 mm and a groove width of 3 mm.
