SEISMIC RESPONSE ANALYSIS OF A HIGH-RISE SUSPENDED STRUCTURE
A high-rise building with 20 office floors suspended from roof truss has been designed in Shanghai to re-alize a vast public open space on the first floor. In order to evaluate the elastic-plastic behavior of the high-rise sus-pended structure under rare earthquakes and study deformation form and component damage under rare earth-quakes,seven groups of Zone 7 EQ waves with 50-year exceedance probabilities 2 are selected to conduct rare earth-quake elastic-plastic time history analysis considering material nonlinearity and geometric nonlinearity. The analy-sis results show that the elastic-plastic story drift of the structure under rare earthquakes meets the code limit, and the response of the building under the rare earthquake is acceptable,in which the building does not suffer significant damage or collapse, providing the reference for high-rise suspended structure.
