STABILITY ANALYSIS OF RIVERBANK SLOPES BASED ON STRENGTH REDUCTION METHOD
Lacking of management all year round, slopes of rivers in cities are at risk of instability. In order to pre-vent damage to people's lives and property, the slopes are supported and managed by combining retaining walls and wooden piles, where the wooden piles are closely arranged and have a solid circular cross-section.Midas is used to conduct stability analysis of the supported slope, and GeoStudio software is used to calculate the safety factor of the supported slope using the strength reduction method, and the stability and cost of the two support schemes are com-pared.Although both solutions meet the requirements, the solution in which wooden piles are supported 2.6 m to the right of the retaining wall provides more stable slope support, lower cost, and meets the specification requirements. Therefore, the solution is chosen to support the slope of the river channel.
