STUDY ON THE STRESS-STRAIN RELATIONSHIP OF FRP-STEEL PLATE
Based on the rule of mixture of composite materials,a new theoretical model is proposed to predict the stress-strain relationship of FRP-steel composite plate to investigate the tensile properties of FRP-steel composite plates.Considering different material mixture ratio of FRP and steel plate, uniaxial static tensile tests including 4 groups of 8 FRP-steel plates are conducted,in which the failure mode and load-displacement curve are obtained showing that FRP tensile failure occurs in all composite plates. The stress-strain relation of the composite plate is derived, and the comparison shows that the theoretical curve of the stress-strain relationship is in good agreement with the experimental curve. Therefore, the theoretical model can accurately predict the mechanical properties of FRP-steel composite plates, providing a basis for the design and application of the FRP-steel composite plate.
