STUDY ON LOAD-CARRYING PERFORMANCE OF BOX GIRDER PORTAL FRAME SYSTEM UNDER CORROSION
To investigate the impact of corrosion on the structural reliability and load-bearing capacity of vari-able-section cast-in-place box girders in bridge engineering, finite element analysis was conducted on the load-bearing capacity of corroded box girder portal frame systems.Accelerated corrosion tests were used to obtain tensile specimens with four different corrosion rates.Tensile tests on these specimens provided the stress-strain rela-tionships for portal frame trusses at various corrosion rates.Using ABAQUS finite element software, the stress, strain, and load-bearing capacity of the corroded portal frame system were analyzed. The results show that the de-gree of structural damage increases with the corrosion rate.Corrosion rates below 1.97%have negligible impact on the load-bearing capacity of the portal frame system, with a reliability coefficient of 4.72 indicating good stability. However, when the corrosion rate exceeds 5.88%,the critical load of the entire variable-section cast-in-place box girder portal frame significantly decreases.
