STUDY ON WIND LOAD CHARACTERISTICS OF DOUBLE-ARCH ROOFS UNDER TORNADO CONDITIONS
To study the impact of tornadoes on wind loads for continuous double-arch roofs, this research employs a Ward-type tornado simulation device and the Realizable k-ε turbulence model to conduct detailed numerical simu-lations of wind loads on continuous double-arch roofs under tornado conditions.Using a vortex ratio of 0.5 and three different span-to-rise ratios(1/4,1/5,and 1/6),the study analyzes the wind pressure coefficients and surrounding traces for the continuous double-arch roof. The results indicate that when the roof is located in the core of the torna-do,the wind pressure coefficients for the continuous double-arch roof exhibit negative pressure characteristics.Ad-ditionally,wind pressure variations are more pronounced on the eaves, while the pressure in the middle of the roof re-mains relatively stable. As the span-to-rise ratio increases, the maximum negative pressure on the continuous dou-ble-arch roof slightly increases, from 0.54 to 0.552,a 2.2%increase.This research provides reference models with different span-to-rise ratios for numerical simulations of tornado impacts on low-rise buildings.
