COMPARISON AND ANALYSIS OF RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF ASPHALT MODIFIED WITH DIFFERENT PLANT FIBERS
Corn stalk fiber, rice straw fiber, and cotton fiber have become new environmentally friendly asphalt mod-ifiers due to their low cost and excellent modification effects. This paper analyzes the modification mechanisms and reinforcement effects of these three plant fibers on asphalt pavements.Firstly, the optimal content of the three plant fibers was determined through basic tests such as penetration, softening point, and elongation.Secondly, rheological tests were conducted on the modified asphalt based on the determined optimal content. The study results indicate that the optimal content for all three plant fibers is 3%,and all can significantly improve the high-temperature rheo-logical properties of the matrix asphalt, although their impact on low-temperature performance is less pronounced. The findings provide a theoretical basis for the application and development of eco-friendly asphalt pavements.
