STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT REJUVENATORS ON THE AGING RESISTANCE OF RECLAIMED ASPHALT PAVEMENT(RAP)MIXTURES
Due to the presence of hard, aged asphalt in RAP(Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement)materials, their resis-tance to fatigue and cracking is poor.To address these shortcomings, different types of rejuvenators are used to re-store the performance of aged asphalt. However, the rejuvenated asphalt in RAP materials may have lower resistance to secondary aging. In this study,oil-based and organic rejuvenators were applied to asphalt mixtures containing 50%RAP.The mixtures were subjected to short-term and long-term aging tests, including elastic modulus, dynamic creep, indirect tensile fatigue, and intermediate temperature fracture tests,to investigate their aging performance. The results indicate that the type of rejuvenator has a significant impact on the aging resistance of rejuvenated asphalt mixtures, with mixtures containing organic rejuvenators aging more rapidly than those with oil-based rejuvenators.
