STUDY ON THE INFLUENCE OF TIDAL WATER LEVEL ON PORE WATER PRESSURE IN SEABED LAYERS
Tidal effects cause fluctuations in pore water pressure within a certain depth of the seabed, which can im-pact the lifespan of tunnel structures.Using the Xiamen Tong'an Island Access Project as a case study, this research employs COMSOL Multiphysics finite element software to simulate the effects of tidal action on the seabed. It investi-gates the sensitivity of key parameters, such as soil permeability, foundation soil stiffness, and tidal amplitude on the seabed response under tidal influence. The findings indicate that the impact of tidal action decreases with increasing depth.Specifically, the influence depths for ebb tide and flood tide on silty clay layers are 3.0 m and 4.2 m,respec-tively.To mitigate the impact of tidal action during the construction of underwater tunnel projects,it is recommended to select appropriate depths during route planning. The analysis results provide valuable references for future under-water tunnel alignment decisions.
