Development and performance testing of a prototype of refrigerator at-120 ℃
In order to validate the feasibility of a closed-cycle reverse Brayton air refrigerator equipped with the motor-driven turbo-expander-compressor in the application of low-temperature refrigerators, and to investigate the operating charac-teristics of the closed-cycle air refrigeration system in the low-temperature refrigerator, this paper developed a prototype of an air-refrigeration low-temperature refrigerator with 200 W cooling capacity design at-refrigeration temperature of-120 ℃.A study of the cooling-down process and off-design characteristics under different heat load conditions was carried out on the pro-totype.The results show that the system operates reliably and cools down at a fast rate.It takes only 3 hours for the system to run at full power to cool down to-100 ℃,and the lowest refrigeration temperature reaches-126 ℃.The system achieves a cooling capacity of about 215 W and a system COP of 0.08 at the design refrigeration temperature of-120 ℃.
