Design of a wideband low temperature receiver at C waveband
As a core terminal of RF telescope, the wideband low temperature receiver at C waveband was used to receive very-weak microwave signals from the universe so as to study the cosmic spectral lines, usually working below 20 K through a GM re-frigerator.In order to achieve the noise temperature below 20 K and the size shift of the amplifier from 90*40*20 mm to 20*30*15 mm,the structure designs of feed source, low temperature microwave unit and room temperature IF unit in the receiver were optimized. The results show that the noise temperature reaches 7 K and the weight is reduced. The balanced amplifier has du-al signals for back-up operation, improving system reliability. The receiver's low-phase noise inverter achieves a phase noise of-96 dBc/Hz@1 kHz to meet the needs of the application.
