Electrothermal Coupling Analysis of Middle and Low Pressure Composite Umbilical Cable in Winding State
Dynamic umbilical cable is usually constructed with the winch,which can not only obtain greater convenience during construction,but also easily control the rewinding and releasing of the cable according to actual needs during operation.Therefore,safety of the umbilical cable when winding on the winch needs to be checked in advance.By analyzing temperature rise characteristics of the umbilical cable,heat of the umbilical cable can be sensed directly,and failure of the umbilical cable can be effectively reduced.In order to study temperature rise during full load operation when medium and low pressure composite umbilical cable was winding on the winch,and verify whether the selected conductor cross section could meet operation requirements of the system,a two-dimensional simulation model of electrothermal coupling was established in the paper.Through simulation,heat distribution of each layer of umbilical cable under the winding state was calculated,and temperature field distribution diagram was obtained.The factors that might affect the temperature of umbilical cable were also explored,which could provide theoretical reference for actual submarine cable construction and winch design.
