Medical equipment cables play a crucial role in modern medical equipment.Due to the variety of medical devices and the fact that advanced medical equipment is mainly imported, medical equipment cables face significant technical barriers from foreign countries, which is the main reason for the slow standardization process of medical equipment cables. At present, medical equipment cables are mainly produced through customization.Because of their special working environment, medical equipment cables have completely different performance requirements from ordinary cables, especially higher requirements for cable flexibility, noise resistance, ultraviolet(UV)resistance, tensile strength, antibacterial properties, and biocompatibility. Therefore, structural design of cables and selection of insulation and sheath materials are particularly important. The paper mainly elaborates on the definition and classification of medical equipment cables,as well as current relevant standards. At the same time, structure of common and typical medical cables is analyzed, and requirements of production process, product performance, testing methods and wiring requirements are also explored in depth, which could serve as a reference for relevant technical personnel.
