Emergency switching of voice services on IMS interconnection
The interconnection of IMS networks significantly improved the eficiency of interconnection, optimized the voice termination experence, but at the same time,it also centralized the interconnection architecture. Therefore, higher requirements for security and reliability of IMS interconnection was put forward by telecommunication regulatory authority and carriers. This paper reviewed the evoluton of voice service interconnection architecture in China, introduced the current situation and facing disaster recovery challenges.Subsequently, this paper proposed four emergency switching schemes, including circuit domain switching,third-party switching, expanding capacity of existing IMS interconnection gateway, and deploying a dedicated backup node. This paper then conducted a detailed comparative analysis between different schemes. In the end, this paper concludes that deploying a dedicated backup node is the most suitable solution, that each carrier establishs one or several IBCF/TrGW nationwide as dedicated backup switching points for voice service to be forwarded to,when there is a failure in the interconnection links within each province.
