With the world spread of Chinese culture,more and more people around the world would like to appreciate Chinese cuisines.Good English version of Chinese dish names may make contributions to the “going out”of Chinese dishes.This paper,from the perspective of intercultural communication,holds that English translation of Chinese dish names plays a role in the “going out”of Chinese cuisine,and with the examples of Sichuan cuisine,it provides some principles and strategies for the English translation of Chi-nese cuisines.
