Analysis on Art Reading Promotion Models from the Perspective of Library Aesthetic Education Innovation——A Multi-case Study of Zhejiang University of Technology Library
Art reading promotion is an innovative aesthetic education practice implemented with the combination of reading promotion and aesthetic education. Libraries have played a crucial role in aesthetic education by providing aesthetic environment,giving access to aesthetic literature and implementing aesthetic activities to cultivate the physical and mental development of the individuals. Due to the lack of research in the art reading promotion field in library,this research aims to analyze the underlying theory and practical models of art reading promotion,bringing up specific advantages for library to carry out art reading promotion activities to fully exert the educational function. With the methodology of literature review,theoretical analysis and case studies,this article looked into the conception of art reading promotion from the origins,analyzed the notable practices of academic libraries,and summarized three stages of aesthetic psychological process as sensory pleasure,emotional resonance and quality improvement. It proposes three practical modes according to aesthetic psychological process with case studies from Zhejiang University of Technology Library. (1) Reading activities with sense of beauty,which refers to the adoption of art in various manifestations generating sensory pleasure to arouse readers' interest and curiosity in reading. (2)Reading activities with beauty appreciation by combining aesthetic values in the themes of reading activities to arouse sympathy among the readers in reading activities. (3)Reading activities with beauty creation by participation of readers in the creation of art far beyond appreciation. It further defines the underlying theory of art reading promotion,which is the interaction of different forms of art with reading activity aims at improving the aesthetic literacy and reading experience simultaneously. It concludes that the current research on art reading promotion is still in exploration and has not yet formed a unified paradigm due to a lack of combination between theories and practices. At the same time,the practices of art reading promotion in libraries faces practical issues such as difficulties in obtaining resources,uneven reader participation,scarcity of professional talents,insufficient activity evaluation and feedback. Therefore,the academic community needs to further enhance the theoretical foundation of art reading aesthetic education and summarize practical experience to extract a paradigm that can be widely applied. Further study is called upon to innovate effective promotion strategies and methods to promote the in-depth development of art reading promotion,so as to meet the demands of the readers and achieve the goal of aesthetic education.
