The defects after ultrasonic test of 23 t rough-machined billet were analyzed with macro analysis,scanning electron microscope,energy spectrum analysis,metallographic inspection,chemical analysis and other methods,and it was determined that the defects of the large steel forging were white spots.The inclusions and segregation phenomena were found in the cracks at the white spots.The corresponding preventive measures were put forward.
