Process Optimization of Crankshaft Forgings for a Ship Engine Based on Quality Improvement and Consumption Reduction
In order to improve the market competitiveness of crankshafts, especially semi-finished crankshafts, the shapes of crank arm and output end flange, the blank structure before forging and the die cavity design are optimized to solve the problems of large blank loss before forging, low contact ratio of crank arm shape, low material utilization rate of crankshaft forgings, and the quality problems of crank arm top circle interlayer and insufficient corner filling of output end flange of crankshaft forgings. The actual production results of crankshaft forgings show that the optimization effect is obvious, the quality problems are effectively solved, the weight of each crankshaft forging raw material is reduced by 330kg,and the material utilization rate is increased by 7.1%.
