The Influence of Magnesium Treatment on the Control of Inclusions in P92 Steel
The inclusions in P92 steel has been analyzed by using OM,SEM,EDS and other detection methods, and the effect of magnesium treatment on the modification of inclusions in P92 steel has been studied. The results show that compared with the traditional Si-Ca wire, the composite cored wire has a stronger deoxidization ability,it can change the morphology and distribution of inclusions in steel. When the traditional Si-Ca wire was used, the inclusions in the steel were irregularly shaped Al2O3 particles. When the composite cored wire with content of 5%Mg and 20%Al has been applied, the inclusion were approximately spherical MgO-Al2O3,and the size becomed smaller. When the composite cored wire with content of 12%Mg and 11%Al has been applied, the inclusions were spherical MgO-Al2O3 with finer dispersion distribution. After modification, the inclusions no longer gather and grow become more heterogeneous nucleation points.
