Optimization of the die surface and forming process for car dash panel
The drawing die surface of complex automotive covering parts determines the formability, surface quality and dimensional accuracy of the stamping,a reasonable design of addendum surface can effectively improve the uniformity of sheet metal deformation.Based on CAD/CAE collaborative design ideas, the stamping process of a new car dash panel part was simulated. Then, the proper drawing die surface was designed, and forming parameters were optimized by simulation results analysis. The contrast analysis of the sheet thickness between the simulation results and the actual forming product shows that the optimized simulation results and the actual forming products have the same change. Therefore, the reliability of simulation precision is verified.Further, the forming defects of sheet metal can be predicted effectively by numerical simulation of the forming process, and the product cycle can be shorten greatly and cost can be saved.
