Determinants of the Paradox between Willingness and Behavior for Residents Participate in Eco-community Construction:Based on resident survey data analysis in Dongying City,Shandong Province
Based on 586 respondents field survey data in Dongying City,Shandong Province,this paper ana-lyzes the deviation of residents willingness and behavior in eco-community construction from four dimensions of waste sorting,green consumption,green travelling and ecological activities,and then identifies its influencing fac-tors.The results show that:(1)The comprehensive willingness intensity index is 0.909,while the behavior inten-sity index is 0.415,which means higher willingness does not necessarily result in higher participation behavior.(2)Participation behaviors depend on psychological identity,community satisfaction and situational factors,while willingness is mainly affected by psychological identity,individuals characteristics and communities promotion measures and activities.(3)The differences of residents age,education level,income,public environmental facili-ties and publicity and education activities increase the deviation of willingness and behavior.(4)The influencing factors of willingness and behaviors for each single dimension are varies.It is suggested to promote residents psy-chological identity and their satisfaction level,improve the ability and level of community governance,pay attention to the differences in residents characteristics,as well as improve community environmental protection promotion measures and strengthen behavioral norms.
