Spatial Effects and Mechanisms of Impact of Digital Economy on Rural Revitalisation in the Yellow River Basin
Based on the panel data of nine provinces in the Yellow River Basin from 2011 to 2020, this study explores the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics of digital economy and rural revitalisation in the basin using Ker-nel density estimation and other methods, and analyses the impact of digital economy on rural revitalisation in the Yellow River Basin by using the dynamic spatial Durbin model and mediation effect model. The results show that:(1) The digital economy and rural revitalisation in the Yellow River Basin show an overall upward trend with strong spatial heterogeneity. (2) The digital economy within the Yellow River Basin presents a significant promotion effect on rural revitalisation, and the results remain robust through endogeneity test and policy effect test. The digital information base and digital financial platform have a significant promotion effect on rural revitalisation in this region, and there is a spatial spillover effect, while digital agricultural industrialisation only has a promotion effect on rural revitalisation in this region, and the spatial spillover effect on the neighbouring regions is not obvious. (3) The digital economy of the Yellow River Basin can help rural revitalisation through technological progress and consumption upgrading.
