Dual Pattern of China's Regional Economy:Differentiation and Integration of"Diamond Region"and"Great Frontier Region"
In response to the fundamental question of the overall pattern of the regional economy in China, the paper examines the sharp contrast between the economic and social development of the two regions in Chinese main-land,put forward the spatial division of"Diamond Region"and"Great Frontier Region";then the facts of population change and economic growth are cited to prove the rise of the"Diamond Region",the relative decline of the"Great Frontier Region"and its dual differentiation with the"Diamond Area",it is pointed out that this new dual pattern is the basic feature of China's regional economy and the main contradiction of coordinated development; It is proposed that the dual integration development should be taken as the basic starting point of regional policy, and a new concept system of regional spatial governance should be formed on the basis of this dominant discourse, and should promote the further improvement and dual-cycle development of the"Diamond Region",and support the development of sub-core regions, border counties and cities in the"Great Frontier Region",and build a series of integrated development belts, including Beijing-Harbin,new Longhai-Lanxinland bridge,Chengdu-Chongqing-Lanzhou-Xining,Chengdu-Chongqing-Lhasa-Shigatse,the greater southwest loop, and Guangzhou-Kunming integrated development belt.
