Numerous domestic and international studies indicate that age is one of the significant factors affecting human visual functions.The differences in visual characteristics between the elderly and other age groups are mainly reflected in the requirements for artificial lighting environments closely related to daily living activities.With the advancement of age-friendly modifications in urban community living environments in China,increasing research is focusing on the crucial role of lighting quality in age-friendly design.Based on the latest research findings and practical experiences both domestically and internationally,this paper analyzes the visual characteristics of the elderly population.It proposes indoor lighting design methods and key points that meet the physiological and psychological needs of the elderly,providing a basis and reference for theoretical research and practical application in age-friendly lighting environments.
