Research on the lighting environment in living spaces adapted to the visual characteristics of the elderly
The degree of social aging in China is becoming increasingly serious.The visual function of the elderly is declining,especially in the environments where residential lighting conditions are inadequate,there exists a significant risk of accidental falls among older adults.This paper investigates and analyzes the factors affecting the safety of residential lighting based on the visual physiological characteristics and behavioral activity patterns of the elderly.It explores the impact of illumination levels,glare,transitions between light and dark,and lighting methods on the risk of falls among older adults.The findings of this study offer recommendations for improving the quality of lighting environments and reducing risks associated with lighting factors tailored to the elderly,thereby,providing a reference for further scientific studies and lighting design aimed at creating age-friendly residential spaces.
