Distribution of Germanium and Its Influencing Factors in Soil and Rice in the Rice Fields of Guizhou Province
This study investigated the distribution and influencing factors of germanium(Ge)content in soil and rice in the main rice farmlands of Guizhou Province, aiming to provide a scientific basis to develop Ge-rich agricultural products in Guizhou Province.Soil samples from rice fields in the main rice farmlands of Guizhou Province and the corresponding rice samples were collected to examine organic matter content,pH,as well as the content of Ge and cadmium(Cd)in all samples. The results show that most of the study ar-ea has first-class Ge-rich soils, with a general trend of higher Ge contents in the east-west direction and lower contents in the north-south direction, significantly influenced by natural factors. When the soil Ge content was greater than 1.80 mg/kg,there was a signifi-cant positive correlation between Ge and soil organic matter contents. When it was lower than 1.80 mg/kg,a significant negative corre-lation between Ge and soil pH was found, indicating that soil Ge content is to some extent influenced by soil organic matter and pH.The average Ge content in rice in the study area was 11.2 μg/kg,and the average biological absorption coefficient of rice Ge(Ax)is 0.71%.When Ax≥0.7%,there is a significant positive correlation between the biological absorption coefficient of rice Ge and soil or-ganic matter content(r=0.56,p<0.01),indicating that increasing soil organic matter content is beneficial for the enrichment of Ge in soil and promotes the Ge absorption by rice.In addition, there was a positive correlation between the ability of rice to absorb Ge and Cd,as well as the content of Ge and Cd in rice, indicating that there may be a certain synergistic effect between Ge and Cd in the soil-rice system, which requires further research.
