Abstract
This paper describes the characteristics of complex power grids and the importance of relay protection.It explores the application of wide area protection technology in relay protection,including system structure design,fault identification and decision-making,backup protection,and system optimization,in order to improve the efficiency and stability of complex power grid relay protection mechanisms.
