Unified National Market,Industrial Structure Adjustment and Regional Economic Gap
The reduction of regional economic gap is an important part of the overall goal of common prosperity. The construction of a unified national market has great influence on the adjustment of regional industrial structure, the reduction of regional economic gap and the realization of common pros-perity.Based on the provincial panel data from 2011 to 2020,this paper conducts a theoretical and empirical study on the impact of China's unified national market on regional economic gap.The research results show that:The unified national market can significantly narrow regional economic gap. However, due to the relative changes in the size of agglomeration effect and dispersion effect, the unified commodity market and labor market have an"inverted U-shaped"effect on regional economic gap in China. At present, about 1/3 of the provinces have already crossed the inflection point, and after a series of robustness tests and elimination of endogenous problems, this conclusion still holds;deepening regional industrial division of labor and promoting regional industrial structure upgrading play an important intermediary role in the influence of unified national market on regional economic gap.The unification of commodity market and element market is conducive to regional industrial division of labor and industrial structure upgrading and has complementary effect. It also can enhance the influence on regional economic gap.Based on this, this paper puts forward some policy suggestions from the aspects of perfecting the construction of unified national market and optimizing the adjustment of regional industrial structure.
