Exploring the Dynamic Effect of Low-carbon Innovation Driven by Demand:A Case Study of New Energy Automobile
Promoting low-carbon innovation from the demand side is a crucial pathway for achieving low-carbon development. The gradual cultivation of practices of low-carbon demand provides crucial support for the validity of analyzing demand-driven low-carbon innovation.Taking the new energy vehi-cle industry as a research sample of the low-carbon strategic emerging sector, this study explores the mechanism of low-carbon innovation driven by de-mand at different stages. We find that during the cultivation phase, consumer demand promotes the diffusion and maturation of low-carbon technologies through technological validation, technological showcases, and pre-subsidies.Upon entering the growth phase, market scale effects such as internal economy of scale, external economy of scale, escape from competition, and resource aggregation accelerate corporate innovation. At the same time,high-quality demand characterized by diversification and quality also promotes the low-carbon innovation.Based on these findings,it is recommended to dynamically optimize the institutional environment and infrastructure of demand-driven low-carbon innovation, thereby maximize the role of demand-side in promoting low-carbon development.
