Evaluation model and application of construction workers'safety behavior based on antecedent factors
Accidents in construction projects are primarily linked to the unsafe behaviors of construction workers. Therefore,a pre-assessment of the workers'safety behaviors is crucial for accident prevention.In-itially,a literature-based visual analysis was employed to preliminarily filter antecedent factors of safety be-havior.This is followed by the construction of an evaluation index system for construction workers'safety behavior, integrating expert opinions.Subsequently,an improved group decision-making analytic hierarchy process(AHP)was utilized to determine the composite weights of each evaluation index.A extension mat-ter-element evaluation model was then developed. To validate the model's rationality and reliability,it was applied to assessing the safety behavior of construction workers in a specific project. The results indicate that the weight of safety awareness in the evaluation indexes of construction workers'safety behavior is significantly high, marking it a crucial factor in accident prevention. The overall safety behavior of workers in the empirical project is categorized as Level Ⅲ,denoting general safety, suggesting that the personnel in-volved in the project's construction operations are relatively safe. The individual dimensional indexes for construction workers'safety behavior exhibit either a normal or a slightly skewed normal distribution. This demonstrates the model's effectiveness in identifying levels of safety behavior among construction workers and offers a reference for research and practice in construction safety management.
