Experimental study on parameters of hardening soil small-strain model for soft soil in Wuhan
The hardening soil small-strain(HSS)model takes into account the highly nonlinear stiffness of soil un-der very small strain conditions, which is more and more widely used in the deformation analysis of deep foundation pit engineering. The determination of model parameters is crucial for the effective application of the model. For soft soil areas in Wuhan, combined with the research results of the HSS model in domestic and foreign literature, the determination methods of each parameter in the HSS model were summarized.Taking two soft soil deep foundation pit projects in Wuhan as the background, the triaxial consolidation drainage shear test and dynamic triaxial test were carried out by using triaxial consolidation shear instrument and GDS dynamic triaxial instrument, the parameters re-quired for small strain hardening model were obtained, including soil strength parameters, small strain stiffness, etc.Based on this, the empirical relationships between parameters in the HSS model were constructed, and a complete method for obtaining the parameters of the HSS model for soft soil deep excavation projects in Wuhan was pro-posed by combining the research results of domestic and foreign scholars and the results of laboratory experiments in this study. The research outcomes can provide parameters and technical support for deformation analysis of simi-lar deep excavation projects under geological conditions in Wuhan.
