Characteristics of heat flow distribution in Fuyang Basin and its surrounding area,Anhui Province
The Fuyang Basin is located in the eastern part of the Zhoukou Depression, which contains abundant geothermal resources. However, the geothermic geology research is relatively rare, especially the heat flow distribution characteristics in the study area.In order to provide the scientific basis for in-depth research on geothermics and geothermal resources assessment in this area, this study carried out the research on the geothermal conditions which included 6 collected temperature measurement data,4 measured steady-state temperature data and thermal conductivity measurement data from 61 core samples. After that,4 high quality heat flow values were calculated. Results show that the geothermal gradient between depth of 0 m and 2281 m ranges from 23.4℃/km to 35.5℃/km with an average value of 27.9℃/km,rock thermal conductivity ranges from 0.968 W/(m·K)to 4.932 W/(m·K)with an average value of 1.959 W/(m·K),and the heat flow value is between 44.7 mW/m2 and 63.8 mW/m2 with an average of 53.4 mW/m2,the heat flow value is consistent with the published research of 53.4 mW/m2 in Zhoukou Depression but lower than the average value of 60.4 mW/m2 in mainland China,61.9 mW/m2 in eastern China,58.3 mW/m2 in eastern Lianghuai coalfield area, and 61.4 mW/m2 in southern Qinling orogenic belt.In general, the average heat flow value in this area is relatively close with the mainly cratonic basins in China, such as the Qaidam Basin and Sichuan Basin, but much lower than the Cenozoic rift basins such as the Fenwei graben and Bohai Bay Basin. The regional tectonics are in a stable state. At the same time, there are some differences in heat flow within the region, mainly due to the influence of regional geological tectonic backgrounds, basement relief and sedimentary cover and fault activity.
