Mapping ideas and practice of different tectonic-lithofacies paleogeography in craton basin:Early Paleozoic of Ordos Basin as an example
The idea of tectonic-sedimentary differentiation establishes an organic relationship between tectonic-geological processes in the earth interior and sedimentary responses on the earth surface, which can be divided into different systems, reflecting the earth system thinking.Under the guidance of this idea, the Early Paleozoic tectonic-lithofacies paleogeographic map of the Ordos Basin is compiled. The basin-mountain system map mainly reflects the control of different tectonic-sedimentary differentiation on paleogeographic features, reveals the dynamic mechanism of paleogeographic evolution, and reflects the response of deep earth activities in different periods to the surface system. The mapping of uplift and depression system reveals the differences of sedimentary environments and filling sediments in different tectonic units during the process of sea level fluctuation. The mapping of convexity-depression system clearly shows the differentiation of sedimentary environment caused by the difference of paleo-geomorphology in the eastern depression, and the distribution and combination of hydrocarbon, reservoir and covered materials. The tectonic-lithofacies paleogeographic maps of different levels can better explain the"why"of the paleogeographic features, and more clearly reveal the spatial distribution of hydrocarbon accumulation materials and their control factors,so as to guide oil and gas exploration practice more effectively.
