A Beam Sharpening Method for Wide-Area Sea Detection of MIMO Radar on Moving Platform
To solve the problem of low azimuth resolution in forward-looking imaging of phased array ra-dar with moving platform, taking advantage of the angular resolution of(Multiple-Input Multiple-Output)MIMO radar,a beam sharpening method for airborne MIMO radar suitable for wide-angle scanning is pro-posed.Firstly,based on the principle of virtual array of MIMO radar,an echo model of subarray-level MIMO radar forward-looking imaging is established under the wide-beam narrow-beam and simultaneous multi-beam detection modes. Then, under the Bayesian criterion, combining with noise statistical prior information,a beam sharpening method based on maximum likelihood estimation is proposed.Simulation and data analysis show that this method can achieve good beam sharpening performance in a wide angular range, while greatly saving time resources, which has certain engineering application value.
