Wideband Planar Endfire High-Gain Antenna Excited by Paired Dipoles
A broadband antenna with unidirectional radiation characteristics is proposed, featuring a mi-crostrip slot structure double dipole. The antenna comprises a stepped slot structure,a coplanar double dipole, and five sets of deflectors. The stepped slot structure is used to enhance impedance matching and expand the bandwidth of the antenna. The coplanar double dipole improves the antenna's radiation char-acteristics,while the deflector increases its gain.Simulation and measurement show that the antenna's relative bandwidth is 66.4%(5.78 GHz~11.53 GHz),the in-band front-to-back ratio 15.7 dB~27.4 dB,the gain 8.4 dBi~11.9 dBi,the cross polarization of the antenna low and the radiation pattern stable. The excellent performance of the antenna makes it highly attractive for applications in wireless communication and radar.
