Soft-Switching and Four-Channel Current-Balancing LED Driver with Wide Input Voltage Range
In order to cope with LED applications of different input voltage levels,a four-channel LED driver with a wide range of input voltage is proposed. The driver integrates a Buck-Boost structure into a full-bridge network, and operates in different modes through dif-ferent combinations of switches, resulting in a wide gain. The passive current balancing method is used to achieve 4 LED outputs to share the current.Due to the operating characteristics of the driver, the switches can realize the ZVS(zero-voltage-switch)under the full range without the addition of a lossless snubber circuit. The modulation strategy, operation and performance of the driver are analyzed in detail. Finally,a 69 W experimental prototype is built, and the experimental results show that the input voltage range of the driver is 17 V-216 V,the current sharing error is less than 3.7%,and the maximum efficiency is up to 97.8%.
