The Aijingshan strontium deposit is a typical volcanic hydrothermal deposit.Macroscopic morphological and microscopic petrographic observation of the strontium ore show that morphological characteristics of celestite are correspondent to metallogenic processes.Celestite occurs mainly in plate,breccia,veinlet,fine xenomorphic,clumnar and veinlet-massive morphology.The plate crystal celestite is formed in the early(main)metallogenic stage.Breccia celestite is developed during middle active tec-tonic period from the early plate crystal.The veinlet consisting of fine grain-thin plate celestite is devel-oped in cracks of the plate celestite,xenomorphic fine grained celestite developed between fractured py-rite,columnar celestite in tensile cracks suggesting that they belong to late metallogenic stage.The vein-let-fine grained massive celestite appears throughout the whole metallogenic process occurring mainly in the wall rock.
