From July 15th to 18th 2024,the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing,during which the Central Committee made decisions on further deepening reforms and advancing Chinese-style modernization.In the current context of a volatile international environment and a complex global economic landscape,China must choose economic development strategies that suit its specific circumstances amid these major changes.Key strategies include maintaining an international orientation and improving factor productivity;establishing a global financial center by strengthening ties between Shanghai and Hong Kong;increasing investment in education to cultivate world-class talents;boosting innovation and intensifying R&D efforts;adhering to reforms to drive institutional changes;leveraging economies of scale to build a unified domestic market;and accelerating digital and green transitions.China must continue to pursue a path of peaceful development,facing the challenges of international environment in the new era of globalization through reform,opening up,and innovative development to achieve sustained economic growth and comprehensive social progress.Additionally,Chinese-style modernization remains the core goal of China's development,necessitating a balance between international cooperation and competition while promoting the establishment of new global governance models.
