This paper conducts pioneering efforts including the generalization of three key factors affecting just transition,i.e.,the level of intraregional integration, the capacity of production and social tolerance, and a horizontal comparison. The study reveals that the just transition of Central Asian countries is still in the process of groping and facing a variety of challenges such as energy policy, demographic development and regional investment arrangements. It is advisable for China to evolve from green transition to just transition from macro, meso and micro levels by actively boosting the development of regionalism in Central Asia,by establishing just transition cooperation centered on the building of the supply chains of renewable energy, and by promoting gender equality and unlocking more factors for economic growth.
