The basic principle of Uzbekistan's energy policy is the maintenance of energy independence,the enhancement of energy efficiency,and the preservation of ecologic sustainability.Hence the country keeps striving for the diversification of energy combination,the modernization of energy infrastructure,the development of energy-saving technology,and for the active implementation of international cooperation.The shortage of natural gas has become the major threat to the country's energy security.Uzbekistan has already worked out its own manner of tackling energy crisis by means of intensifying exploration and development,adjusting the institution for energy administration,increasing the volume of natural gas import,developing renewable energy,and encouraging energy saving,etc.
