World energy market is facing uncertainty owing to the global geopolitical tensions exacerbated by the Russia-Ukraine conflict.Amid this situation, oil and gas cooperation between China and Russia has extended from pipeline transportation to joint development of the upstream of the industrial chain. In despite of an increase in Russian reliance on Chinese market due to the conflict, the uncertainty and potential risks of the joint projects,e.g.,the Yamal LNG project in the Ice Silk Road, are rising as a result of western sanctions.Considering the essential role of liquified natural gas in China's energy transformation,it is advisable for China to enhance self-sufficiency of energy, reduce the reliance on external market, and contribute to national energy security by enhancing the R&D ability of clean energy technology on basis of energy security and actively expanding new channels to cooperate with Russia as well as other energy suppliers in response to complex and ever-changing international environment.
