Etymological Notes on Six Words of Hakka Dialect in Liancheng County,Fujian Province
This paper gives the etymological notes on six words when compiling Dictionary of Liancheng Dialect.The principles are as follows:1)to find a better etymological character as[lai(ʌ)]寽;2)to select the advantageous and apply it as[tsu(ʌ)]笮;3)to apply the characters as to follow consensuses such as[lai(ʌ)k(')ai(ʌ)]㪐(啟);4)to break through the existing norms as[ti(˩)tuə˧]嘀嗒;5)to use makeshift characters as[tsu(˅)]鲊;6)to apply characters through loaning as[tşʅə˧]膣.
