The Pronunciations of the MC Qi 齐 Final as the 4th Division of the Kaikou 开口 Final in Xie 蟹 Final Group of Hakka Dialects in Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality
There are five types of finals of MC Qi 齐 final as the 4th division of Kaikou 开口 final of Xie 蟹 final group in Hakka dialects in Sichuan province and Chongqing municipality. The typological differences are related not only to their own source dialects, but also to the pronunciation changes such as the growth of head vowel,tone-triggered division of finals, and diphthongization of monosyllables. The paper also argues that the identical pronunciation of ti 梯 and tai 胎 is common in southeastern Chinese dialects and is not resulted from syllabic borrowing via dialect contact.
