The desire to conceive among advanced maternal age women are on the rise,with extensive research indicating that female fertility declines with age.Advanced maternal age is associated with several reproductive challenges:decreased quantity and quality of oocytes,damage to the endometrial function,and an increased risk of obstetric complications.These challenges necessitate the use of assisted reproductive technologies(ART),such as in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVF-ET),preimplantation genetic testing(PGT),and the utilization of donor oocytes.This article reviews the fertility dilemma encountered by these women and discusses the current status and advancements in ART.
