Application of Immersive Audio and Video Technology in the Practice of Soundscape Research
The subjective evaluation was one of the important methods of soundscape research, thus the audio-visual reproduction of soundscape was often required in research. The development of immersive audiovisual technologies makes it feasible to expand the reproduced scenes from the traditional 2-D plane to the 3-D space. To study the effectiveness of different immersive techniques in terms of recorded soundscape content, two different methods were used to record soundscape material in 4 scenes and the recorded data were analyzed using subjective evaluation experiments. The results showed that the methods using panoramic video and FOA audio presented a better overall audiovisual performance.
